(Dangling participle). 12 hrs · Like · 1 Other Member:QUESTION: Exactly what do you think would happen if the majority of parents simply refused to punish their children for expressions of personal charity and wrote a scathing letter back to the school district telling them to stuff it and stop killing trees just to send that type of nonsense home? Seriously?!? What could they possibly do if your child gave his piece of fruit to a friend every day? Would the school district show him/her a thing or two by depriving your child a lunch? Maybe suspension and other school record blemishes (future behavioral evidence)? Try this.... The next time you get something like this from the school, slam them right back and attach a draft Letter of Intent to Homeschool. Tell them the next one they receive will be signed and that youre thinking of running for School Committee.......chirp chirp go the crickets. LOL 12 hrs · Like · 1 Other Member; I have three sons Mark, David, and Luke and we homeschooled the youngest two. Theyre very unusual kids though. They do things like say please, thank you, and have been know to hold a door for a lady too.....There should be a law! Wait what?!? 12 hrs · Like · 1 Other Member:u We use to share food all the time. It only shows generosity and kindness. It proves their are still young children with values. This is absolutely absurd. Thank you miss O for sticking your nose where it doesnt belong!! A verbal warning would suffice. 12 hrs · Like Other Member:My friends daughter is only 10 and she has a wicked peanut allergy. She knows damn well what she can and cant eat, and if shes not sure about something, she wont touch it. She does just fine on her own. Not to mention there are VERY few kids out there with life threatening food allergies. Besides, is it really necessary to PUNISH him for it? If the teacher was really that concerned, she couldve walked up to them and said Sorry, but you cant give him your food by school policy. If youre hungry, well go back in line and work something out. There was no need to punish him with detention. Detention and punishments are for kids that do WRONG. I think wanting to feed a friend, despite some STUPID school policy, is the RIGHT thing to do. A decent teacher with a moral compass would not only recognize that, but embrace it. A good teacher would praise the kid for looking out for his friend, not punish him. That teacher needs to be fired. Kids are going hungry at school .Why cant the president and politicians and people in charge of all these school districts leave the kids lunches alone and put the money in more important stuff like buying paper which teachers and parents have to provide and pencils crayons field trips you name it.
