CKN INTERVIEW: HOW MY ONLY BABY , US BASED SISTER INLAW AND HUSBAND WERE KILLED BY ARMED ROBBERS ALONG ASABA EXPRESSWAY: The agony was excruciating..It could be touched..The mannerism , speech, sighs at every word spoken, the regrets, the why why why question were repeated over and over again. But what could he do, God knows best. These words best describe the agony going through the mind of a Lagos based businessman Kelvin Nwaoba and a native of Amainyi in Ehite Uboma LGA of Imo State who just lost his only child (daughter) in one of the most tragic incident ever known . Kelvin a seasoned trained banker now in his mid 30’s told CKN Nigeria how he received the death of his 2 years daughter and his sister inlaw with her husband in a robbery incident along the Asaba Benin Expressway on December 13th 2014. His sister inlaw Mrs Nkem Okoro based in Houston Texas in the United States were in the country for the burial of her brother inlaw. On arriving Nigeria both couple set out for Mbano ,Imo State in a white SEQUIA Utility Van. The couple for the love they have for their sister inlaw who has become so fond of their baby decided to allow their child to accompany the couple on the journey alongside their house girl and a driver. Mr and Mrs Kelvin Nwaoba have been married for ten good years without a child before they had their little girl. The idea was to join Mr and Mrs Okoro the next day in Mbano , Imo State were the burial was to take place. Hear Kelvin, CKN I have been married for ten years. Infact my initial plan was to get married early in life so that when I am in my late 30’s ,I would have been through with having children and face the full realities of life. But we waited for over ten years before God could answer our prayers. My little girl was all I had. On the tragic day,my sister inlaw alongside her husbamd and my kid set out on a journey, the journey has been very smooth because we were communicating until they got to a place along the Benin Asaba expressway. According to the driver, they encountered some armed robbers along the way and the driver in his wisdom in order to avoid them tried to make a quick detour to the other side of the road. In the process the vehicle somersaulted several times, Mr and Mrs Okoro and my daughter died on the spot alongside my baby Attempt by sympathizers to rush them to a hospital was not successful. While the three died, the driver and house girl survived. On how he received the news of the incident, Kelvin said he was on transit when he was called to return back to base in Lagos where the tragic news was broken to him. We mobilized and headed for Delta State,to me that was the longest journey of my life,I was praying to God that the news will be untrue I insisted on seeing them because I have already made arrangement to fly them out of the country for the best medical attention money can afford, because I just didn’t believe they were dead. The reality of it dawned on me on arrival at the morgue where I saw my little angel,my sister inlaw and her husband lying down side by side in the mortuary .(He opened his phone to show CKN snapped pictures of their body in the morgue) It was horrific. Kelvin continued to ask,why me..Why me CKN?,after all I have gone through to have a child of my own.. But God knows best. Kelvin informed us that he has buried his baby last week Thursday while the late US based couple are still in the mortuary and will be buried in the new year. He also informed us that the man whose burial they came for from the US has also been buried. For now,Kelvin Nwaoba’s wife have not only been left to mourn the tragic loss of her only child but also her sister and brother in law within seconds. Don Okoro was a business man who hailed from Mbaino in Imo State, while his wife was a nurse who hailed from Umuahia. The couple had five children. One of them, Jennifer who was born in 1988 died of cancer-related issues on December 26, 2010. What a TRAGEDY OF THE HIGHEST PROPORTION
