Christopher & I have been running MI on our own and out of pocket for a while now and weve run in to a bunch of challenges including the main one thats wrecked every other site thats gone up against MM, which is how do we pay for it? The cost to operate a site like MI at the size it is now is far more than most would guess, and that cost goes way up exponentially (if wed added 100k members the first year wed have gone out of business based on how many people on average pay for such sites). We can fix it, and grow it too. But we need to know people would support it, so we decided to do something no one else has tried, which is to go right to the community and ask will you support us? If enough people express willingness to do so, were gonna spend the $ and sweat to upgrade & fix the site, and then make a big push to expand it. As long as were getting support well keep it going. If we dont get enough support, well bring the site back up as is long enough for everyone to resolve their business there and the, sadly, well have to move on. I hope we can find enough. I believe in it. And besides I want to prove Chris wrong. :)
