CL Regional Sub-Committee for the Welfare of Children finishes 2013-2016 work plan By: Rebecca Grace S. David CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, September 2 (PIA) -- Regional Sub-Committee for the Welfare of Children (RSCWC) has finished its work plan for the last three years of the Aquino administration. RSCWC Chair and Department of Social Welfare and Development Regional Director Adelina Apostol disclosed that the 25-member group has divided its functions into three: Advocacy; Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation; and Technical Assistance. “Advocacy team is tasked to orient local chief executives and sanggunian members on the functions of the Local Council for the Protection of Children as well as the new evaluation tool for Child-Friendly Local Government Units,” Apostol explained. Also, village officials shall be briefed on the functions and operations of the Barangay Council for the Protection of Children. The team shall likewise hold a series of forums on child rights and related laws for parents, teachers, prosecutors, police, media, and faith-based organizations. “Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation team on the other hand shall work on the formulation of an Annual Inter-Agency Plan for Children and the institutionalization of the delivery of the State of the Children Report by Governors and Mayors during the culminating activity of their respective celebration of Children’s Month,” Apostol added. “And lastly, the Technical Assistance team will oversee the provision of training on data banking, records management, documentation of good practices, conduct of meetings, and processes in local development planning,” Apostol furthered.
