CLAIMING YOUR INHERITENCE Ephesians 1: 11-14 “In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, ....” Reigning over the devil Christ Jesus is seated at the right hand of God, far above all, with all things placed under His feet. The incredible fact is that YOU are seated together with Christ Jesus. YOUR INHERITENCE is a seat in the heavenly realms, NOT in the future, BUT RIGHT NOW. THEREFORE WHAT IS UNDER Jesus’ feet also comes under YOUR feet. YOU can walk in this world exercising YOUR position and authority in Christ Jesus. There is no need for YOU to be pushed around by the Devil anymore. The only power the devil has over YOU is when YOU allow him to rob YOU of YOUR rightful inheritance. Many people are strained and kept in chains by their past, hardened by memories of failure, hurt, pain, rejection and disappointment and this drags YOU down and away from Christ Jesus. The past must not dictate and determine YOUR future, keeping YOU from realising YOUR INHERITENCE in Christ Jesus. YOU must RELEASE the past, let it go, bring it to the Cross, FORGIVE and leave it there. This is a decision to bury the past at the cross and step from the cross to the throne. Take YOUR rightful position, shake of the CHAINS of the past that have pulled YOU down, bring YOUR future into focus and receive the INHERITENCE of freedom and joy God has for YOU NOW. Reigning in Life This is not something for the future, but the HERE AND NOW. As YOU and I take our position with Christ Jesus, YOU start reigning in life, one area at a time. The whole purpose of YOUR position in Christ Jesus is to enable YOU to draw on His power, living effectively in life, fulfilling YOUR responsibilities as a Christian and loving and caring for YOUR families and each other. As a true Christian YOU should be living and walking a life of love as Jesus did, this will enable others to see Jesus and YOU will make a difference. Our personal application This is what reigning in life is all about, having God’s perspective, and taking control and charge of YOUR life in the light of it – EVERY DAY COMMIT YOUR WAYS TO GOD; MEDITATE ON THE TRUTH FROM GOD’S WORD; REAFFIRM YOUR POSITION WITH JESUS; REMIND THE DEVIL HE IS DEFEATED; MAKE CHOICES IN LINE WITH GOD’S WORD; LIVE ACCORDING TO GOD’S WORD; RESPOND TO GOD’S SUPPLY OF LOVE AND GRACE BEFORE REACTING TO LIFE’S CIRCUMSTANCES; PUT THE PAST BEHIND YOU AND REACH FORWARD TO WHAT IS AHEAD. PRAYER - I PUT RESENTMENTS BEHIND ME, AND I FORGIVE ALL THOSE WHO HAVE WRONGED ME. IN THE DAYS AHEAD, CAUSE ME TO INCREASE AND EXCEL AND OVERFLOW WITH YOUR LOVE. MAKE ME TO BE WHAT THIS WORLD NEEDS MOST OF ALL, A LIVING EXAMPLE OF LOVE WHERE THEY CAN SEE JESUS THROUGH ME. IN JESUS NAME AMEN Love Pastor Iain
