CLARIFYING MY POSITION ON DELHI ELECTIONS In case my post below has been read by friends in the light of their theological and communal bias, may I clarify that unlike many Christians I do not hate Mr. Modi. I do want the BJP to lose the Delhi elections. But after that I want to see the church honoring the Prime Minister Modi, praying for him, and supporting his positive agenda, India needs good governance. Bible believing Christianity built the governing structure of India. It is becoming repulsive because the 20th century theology abandoned governance. It wanted Jesus to come back and govern India. Take for example Delhis St. Stephens College. It has given more ministers to India than any other single college. How many of these were Christian? How many godly IAS Officers have come from St. Stephens? What about Christian institutions (seminaries) dedicated to train leaders. Which seminary is training leaders for governing villages, municipalities, or states? It is time to grow out of a theological outlook that is destroying America. The Puritans who went to America did not establish a Bible Seminary. They built Harvard that still gives to America its Presidents, Governors, and Justices. Protestant missionaries to India did not build seminaries to train pujaries. They built Serampore University and great colleges in Calcutta, Madras, Bombay, Allahabad, Delhi, Gutur, Madurai, Indore, Lahore etc. . . it is unwise to mock BJPs troubles in Delhi. RSS deserves credit for decades of hard work that has transformed it into a force governing India. The Church did that in the 19th century --- our theologies and priorities were corrupted by the developments in the West, specifically in America. For more watch my YouTube video Why Christianity Lost America. Making fun of the BJP or mourning the Congress is silly. The lamentation has to be for the Church and for our seminaries.. The BSP was looking for one Christian candidate for Delhi elections - not one was available or willing. .
