CLASSIC AUSSIE ROCK SERIES Showcasing Australia’s Best Music Featured Clip: I love this one for two reasons: Firstly, it’s “a guitar thing”. As well as employing some really tasteful chords, the song also showcases that classic clean “Strat” tone known as “quack”. This sound is found at the second (and fourth) position setting – where two out of the three pickups are heard in parallel creating a very distinctive “out-of-phase” effect. Secondly, it’s just a really fine rock composition – from an equally-impeccable debut album. Fittingly, it was recorded in Memphis by legendary Stax Records and Ardent Studios engineer/producer Terry Manning (Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top, Fabulous Thunderbirds, George Thorogood, Johnny Winter, etc. …his dream list of credits goes on forever!) As for the confusion over what this track is called. Officially, the song’s title is: “Cry In Shame”. Lyrically, though, it’s clearly a “Cryin’ Shame”. In essence, it’s kinda both at the same time, really. “Verb, meet Adjective.” Enjoy… https://youtube/watch?v=740geW2Uy4U
