We use to call our albums, vinyl like that, when we were kids we used to hear to them repeatedly, until the point of exhaustion. Did I say exhaustion? Well, it was not really that. I could listen to the songs of an album a million times without getting tired of it. I would like to play in my room, my shelter, the place where everything happened. It was my favourite place in the house, the place where I could be totally by myself, dressing me up, playing to be a bride with an old curtain, wearing make up, dancing, trying hairstyles, look myself in the mirror, trying new clothes, observing, investigate, and find myself…daydreaming. Beatitude. This was the best part. Dreaming that the actor on the wall was my boyfriend. That will be together forever. Imagine him staring at me intensely. Dreaming moments full of romanticism, of love. Desire to be in love. Dreaming about my future, my goals, to put all my hopes in that dreams. Believing that also praying my desires would come true… there in my room. Listening to my long plays. I dreamt to be someone, to have my life, to be a doctor, a painter, a vet. Living adventures. I dreamt about myself as a woman. I wanted my true love kiss. If there’s something I can tell for sure is that I felt really happy in that room, and many of that desires came true. And I still got dreams in which I keep to find myself. dirartecontemporanea|2.0 gallery is pleaced to announce the opening online (dirartecontemporanea.eu ) on Monday 24th November 2014 from the 9PM of the solo exhibition of Claudia Jares titled My Long Play.
