CLIMATE CHANGE Beware! after years of political inertia if not open obstacle there s a sudden flurry of activities and push for zero emissions which depends on a shaky theory of being able to capture and store those emissions. The reality, apparently endorsed by the UN panel ICCC, is very alarming as instead of gradual reductions the idea of net zero emissions would means continuous emissions but offset by storage....What that means is free rein for the production a gigantic grab for land even larger than the one following the ethanol frenzy. Big businesses will be helped and even subsidised twice while agricultural land will continue disappearing or confiscated in developing countries. Even oil producing companies would be incentivated to increase production as old oil well could be used for storage. This instead of aiming at developing new technologies that would eventually replaced fossil fuels!
