CLIMATE SCIENCE IS NOT SETTLED #QUOTE We are very far from the knowledge needed to make good climate policy, eminent Scientist Steven Koonin. Yes or No? I ask Naomi Klein and David Suzuki and Al Gore to stop - take OFF their blinders, remove their ear-plugs and open their mind to the FACT that the science on which they call for dramatic change - just might not be PROVEN - and I encourage them to DROP the term #ClimateDeniers from their lexicon - to punt the word #TarSands from the debate - and be mindful and present for the discussion suggested below. Nobody is questioning that the climate is changing - the debate still needed is predicated over the VERY CLEAR fact that the climate change models have been PROVEN to be dramatically wrong for the last 2 decades (and simply saying the ocean is a surprise heat sink is odd - because we have known about the oceans since before the models were constructed.) The reality - the science of climate change forecasting is relatively new - our climate past is not well documented - even our climate present is still debated - and our climate future isnt YET capable of being modelled. This story in the WSJ - by Steven Koonin - a very credible scientist (to use a Dr. Suzuki term - he is indeed eminent) - simply challenges the existing modelling and state of understanding of the science - so drop #Denier - and think of a #PragmaticRealist asking honest relevant questions - without name calling, innuendo or drama. ... lets hope that thoughtful discussion results ... online.wsj/articles/climate-science-is-not-settled-1411143565
