CLINT EASTWOOD One of the most prominent actors and directors of the second half of the twentieth century. After achieving stardom in the 60s in Europe thanks to its collaboration with Italian director Sergio Leone, Clint Eastwood developed an impeccable career in Hollywood with a simple but penetrating acting ability and great talent as a film author. Clinton Eastwood Jr. was born on May 31, 1930 in the city of San Francisco (USA). In 1956 he managed to debut at the cinema seize an opportunity provided to Universal. His first title together was A Fistful of Dollars (1964), which was followed by Death they had a price (1965) and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966), three excellent films that made Clint in one of the most popular actors of the time. In the late 60s collaborated with other teachers in the art of film, Don Siegel, filming The Human Jungle (1968), Two Mules for Sister Sara (1969), Dirty Harry (1971) The Beguiled (1971) and Escape From Alcatraz (1979). The cop Harry Callahan, with their violent methods of action, became another of his most recognized and successful characters. After Dirty Harry came Magnum Force (1973) by Ted Post, the executor Harry (1976) by James Fargo and Allen E. Smith, Sudden Impact (1983), directed by Eastwood himself and finally The Dead Pool (1988) by Buddy Van Horn. In 1971 and after appearing as an actor in popular titles like The Legend of the nameless city (1969) by Joshua Logan or Kellys Heroes (1970) by Brian G. Hutton, Eastwood made the jump to the address debuting with very estimable Play Misty for Me (1971), which followed in the 70s High Plains Drifter (1972), the outlaw (1976) and the Gauntlet (1977 ). But Loose (1978) by James Fargo, Any Which Way (1980) by Buddy Van Horn, Bronco Billy (1980) and said Sudden Impact (1983), both directed by Eastwood. The image of hard and lonely Eastwood offered from time to time with Leone and Siegel was widening in the 70s and 80s with titles like Joe Kidd (1972) by John Sturges, Thunderbolt $ 500,000 (1974) by Michael Cimino, Honkytonk Man (1982) Eastwoods Firefox, the Ultimate Weapon (1982) Eastwood, City Heat (1984) by Richard Benjamin, on the tightrope (1984) by Richard Tuggle, pale Rider (1985) and Heartbreak Ridge, also directed and produced by Clint Eastwood. Other film credits are In the line of fire (1993) by Wolfgang Petersen, A Perfect World (1993), The Bridges of Madison County (1995), Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil (1997), Space cowboys (2000), Mystic River (2003) and Million Dollar Baby (2004), the latter under his direction. Besides directing many of the films that have made him a movie star, Eastwood has directed other films in which he acts as Mystic River (2003) and Letters from Iwo Jima (2006), for which he was nominated for Oscar and Changeling (the Exchange, 2008). Eastwood has been especially critical acclaim in France, also films that were not well received in his own country, and has therefore been awarded the highest honors of the European country: in 1994 he received the Order of Arts and letters of the French Republic in 2007 and the Legion of Honor. In 2000 he received the Golden Lion for his entire career at the International Venice Film Festival. Since 1967, Eastwood has his own film production company, Malpaso Productions, which has produced most of his films. He was also mayor of the Californian town of Carmel-by-the-Sea from 1986 to 1988.
