CM TO HEAR AGGRIEVED PARENTS AND STAKEHOLDERS ABOUT EXTENDED HOURS OF THE SCHOOL TIMINGS The Directorate of Education has issued a Circular dated June 12, 2013 informing the schools that the school instructional hours have been extended by half an hour. Accordingly, the schools have implemented the revised timing. However the parents of the children have expressed their displeasure about the extended hours of the school, citing inconvenience to the students and the parents Chief Minister Shri Manohar Parrikar has decided to hear the parents and other stakeholders who are aggrieved by this decision. The mater is under active consideration of the Government. Similarly the Government has decided to constitute and Advisory Committee to examine the issue pertaining to Medium of Instruction at the primary schools as per the RTE Act 2009. The Directorate of Education has moved a proposal for the constitution of above said committee for approval. A meeting in this regard will be shortly convened and date and time will be intimated once the same is approved by the Government.
