CM arrives in Jammu takes stock of situation Jammu: Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah arrived in Jammu this afternoon to take stock of the prevailing law and order situation in Jammu city and other areas which witnessed tension after the clashes between two groups. The Chief Minister in a high level meeting was briefed by the Home Department and the Divisional Administration about the status of law and order in Jammu Division particularly in Kishtwar, Reasi, Rajouri and parts of Jammu where clashes between the two groups of the society made the Administration to call in Army to the assistance of civil Administration for maintenance of peace and restoration of tranquillity. The Chief Minister while giving directions to the Administration for keeping constant vigil over the situation and defusing tension in the affected areas by restoration of calm and peace, made fervent appeal to the people for exhibiting their responsibility towards the State and its people, and help the Administration in restoring order. Omar Abdullah said that Government has called in the Army help to assist the civil Administration in restoring law and order and expediting the process of restoring normalcy. He directed the Administration to be on high alert so as to foil all attempts of those elements who want to vitiate the atmosphere to sever their own vested interests.
