CMAs ... your thoughts?? Heres My two cents.. So by labeling it countrys night to rock does this finally mean that theyre at least bein somewhat honest with us?? I aint hatin. It is what it is. Its all about anthems now (lots of whoa ohh ohhs, yea yeas, etc), heavy rock riffs, music that outplays the singin, dancin /twerkin/shakin around the stage, overall the ability to actually sing isnt really needed for the most part (hence the addition of rap into supposed country songs now... Again before you judge me ... I like rap , older mostly pre 2000 rap, but just wanna be real) What we hear on country radio is what pop was 7-8 yrs ago. Since rock has lost its genre theyve all gone country over the last 10 years or so. Again, not hatin here, Im talkin about the majority of what they FORCE us to hear. Most all of these singles on radio all sound the same from the lyrics, music, and especially the singers. I perform and do enjoy coverin several newer country songs. Those of ya that have been to my shows know that I try to always cover a wide range of genres. Im influenced by so many musical genres its ridiculous ! And Im all about givin you what you want even if sometimes it may not be a song that personally thrills me. I suck it up and sing and play it my way is how I feel about it. Its all about having a good time and keepin the crowd goin. Im no stick in the mud. Or at least I try not to be! Lol. But enough is enough. These award shows are crap. They continue to dumb down not just country, but music in general. I get it though. I do. But at least mix it up. Let the so called bro country do their thing and mix in some REAL deal gritty stuff in between. People would still love it and youd get the more traditional artists out there as well. Is it really too much to ask?? Do I sound bitter ?? Be honest with me... I aint tryin too. Lol. Im a realist. Some of these guys and gals are obviously makin millions while Im typin my little message here. Haha. So theyve obviously figured somethin out. Love it or hate it. Im Just makin a simple suggestion more so than lookin for a huge debate.
