CNPP Commends G-5 Governors For Dumping PDP Conference of Nigerian Political Parties (CNPP) has commended Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amechi of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for saving Nigeria from further division by ethnic-jingoist. CNPP made the commendation in a statement on Saturday through its National Publicity Secretary, Osita Okechukwu. The umbrella body of all registered political parties saluted the G-5 governors for finally deleting dictatorial one party system from Nigeria’s political lexicon, by decamping from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to APC. CNPP made it clear that the action of the G5-Governors was the simulation of the much needed balance of power in the country’s political terrain. The statement reads further: “It is a master-stroke because today, power is balanced in Nigeria with two dominant political parties, one conservative, one progressive, equal in strength, equal in spread in all the wards, local government areas, States and National Assembly, which provides the electorate the alternative to choose from. “The G-5 has catapulted Nigeria into the zenith of liberal democracy, where autocracy, dictatorship and arrogance are reduced to barest minimum and where compromise reigns and no party actually rules” it stated. The CNPP however singled out, His Excellency Rotimi Chibuike Amechi, governor of River State for commendation, for his role in re-positioning Nigerian democracy and indeed saving our fledgling democracy from the hands of Ethnic-Jingoists.
