COFFEE REVIEW ■ Ethiopia Wild Forest Harvest ■ Plant Variety: mixed Altitude: 5900 ft Certification: UTZ, USDA Organic This coffee comes from the Kaffa region where the legend of coffee began. It is said to be the area where Kaldi found the precious coffee cherries! With hundreds of years of growth, you can start to imagine the quality of the cherries harvested in this area. The wild forest harvest is literally an uncultivated peice of natural environment. The local villages ascend to the wild crops and manage the growth through organic farming practices. I cant help but have sensory overload as I sip this coffee and imagine myself standing on that hillside taking in the scene and experiencing all that is LEGEND! This bean has a great flavour and aroma when roasted to a medium/dark to dark. Rich mouth feel, toasty and slight nutty accents make it a hearty cup. The caramel like tones draw you in for full enjoyment. Surprisingly, this coffee holds its own even after it has cooled. Most often, coffee will get a sour bitterness once it sits. In terms of getting what you pay for, this coffee doesnt disappoint the consumer who will notice its complexity.
