COFFEE WITH IR ALUM Tomorrow, December 2nd, Lehigh IR alum Elena McGovern (please see bio below) will be visiting campus and will talk with students in the IR Commons Room at 2pm. This is a great opportunity to speak with an alumnus about internships and careers in International Relations. There will be coffee, hot chocolate, and snacks! Please join us for this great event! Elena McGovern Bio: Elena McGovern focuses on major trends in the oil and gas sector, as a consultant at the Eurasia Group. Prior to joining Eurasia Group, Elena worked as an oil and gas analyst at Business Monitor International, with a large portfolio of markets in the Middle East, Latin America, and North America. In addition, she spent several years working on Middle East regional security, strategic trade, and economic issues at the Frontier Strategy Group, the US Government Accountability Office, and the Stimson Center. She has been cited in the media discussing Middle East energy dynamics, including by Reuters, Bloomberg, and Al Hayat. Her analysis has also been published by the Stimson Center, the Gulf Research Center, theDaily Star, as well as US Government publications. Elena holds an MA in Strategic Studies and International Economics from The Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), and a BA in International Relations from Lehigh University. Elena is also a recipient of the US State Departments Critical Language Scholarship, and has lived and studied in Egypt, Morocco, and Spain. She is proficient in Arabic.
