COLGAY PRIDE WISHES EVERYONE HERE AT HOME, AROUND THE NATION and AROUND THE WORLD A HAPPY NATIONAL LGBT PRIDE MONTH. COLGAY PRIDE is geared at LGBT Advocacy, Empowerment, Education, and most importantly lifting up individuals to teach them the importance of self-respect and embolden pride in the rich LGBT History. COLGAY PRIDE is NOT a DRAG SHOW. We feel Drag performances are merely entertainment and shouldn’t be the forefront of something as important as PRIDE. COLGAY PRIDE was initiated to help change perception of the LGBT Community by providing a professional program. CVBWF Inc. always strives to ensure every program that is given to our community meets the highest standards of professionalism. We will introduce the MPOWER Project and hear from its members. The event will educate our community about all LGBT organizations and programs that are located and offered in our area. We will also host an array of advocacy speakers that are working every day to pave a better way for our community. Food Vendors will be on hand and Local bands will provide entertainment for everyone on Broadway. Also to kick start the COLGAY PRIDE program Founder Jeremy Hobbs has created and donated a new Business Store Front Sticker that is entirely free for any business located in Columbus that simply states “WE SERVE ALL Establishment”. Hobbs said “After the horrific scene of discrimination I witnessed in Arizona, I wanted to ensure that never happened here at home.” Every business that chooses to show their sticker will be inputted into a data base letting our visitors and well as our own community know which establishments serve all. Another free service for each business if they opt to choose will be sensitivity training for their employees.
