COLLABORATIVE GOVERNMENT: A PANACEA FOR ACCELERATED GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT Like it is stated “in politics, we have no permanent friends nor permanent enemies, but only have permanent interests’ .and that sole interest lies on our utmost passion to effect positive change in our society as we work to achieve our collective aim in building a prosperous Delta state. This post is a rejoinder to our previous post tagged “THE VISION IS GETTING CLEARER: TOWARDS A PROSPEROUS DELTA” which many condemned and perceived to be directed to the image of a front-line Governorship aspirant, For the information of the general public the post was not in any way created or linked to the Guber aspirant, but was originally channeled to his aide. Towards the run up of the PDP primaries election, there were a number of false media publications by some politically motivated individuals aimed at destroying the political image of some agents of positive change in the name of distinguished Sen. Dr Okowa, Christian Okpambor and Sylvester Ukwuandi. The malicious intent and smear campaign spearheaded by these “politically motivated individuals” generated a heated political scenario which could have spiraled into commotion and chaos if not for the gregaciousness of honorable men such as Senator Dr. Okowa, Christian Okpambor and Sylvester Ukwuandi in maintaining their dignity, integrity and political maturity. The recent congratulatory message by Sir Tony Obuh to the victory of Sen. Dr. Okowa is a clear mark that in politics, there is no victor or vanquished but we are all one big Family working towards a definite purpose. Tony Obuh showed a perfect example in that he was graceful in defeat by accepting that it is a political contest and there must be a winner, and all runners up in the best interest of our state must show support for the future agenda of our great state, This support was shown clearly by his call to others and Deltans especially Party faithful to rally behind the emergence of Senator Okowa as Governor come 2015. Christian Okpambor been elated by the congratulatory messages and support of the PDP Guber Aspirants and stakeholders of the likes of Sir tony Obuh, Hon Victor Ochei, Prof Sylvester Monye, Elder Orubebe, and many more, calls on all Deltans home and in Diaspora who have the best interest of our beloved state, to emulate the shining example displayed by this Leaders and come together to join Senator Okowa to build and bring prosperity to all Deltans. The Christian Okpambor Political Foundation also uses this medium to congratulate the “Eworor Youth Association” and other Youth support groups who are at the frontline of championing the cause of prosperity, as the youths are the future of tomorrow and as Ralph Nadar stated “The function of leadership is to produce more leaders, not more followers.” Okowa’s pattern of governance is likened to a collaborative approach where the youths are actively involved in the process of development and nation building which in turn paves way for new leaders to emerge. In this light, we urge them to be steadfast in their support because a support for Okowa is a support for all and a support for building a great Delta state.
