COLLIE FOUND NEAR DEATH IN WOODS. Yesterday, a hiker in rural Atlanta was making his way through the woods and saw what he thought was a dead collie laying in the brush. He ran over, and saw the dog breathing, but he had no movement and was not very responsive. Too weak to stand, the man and his daughter carried this gorgeous sable all the way back to their home. They have since been able to get a little bit of food and water into him and he is slowly perking up, but he clearly has a lot of medical issues and needs to see a vet immediately. This dog had no chip, no tags, no love. He was quite possibly a breeder dog who was turned out after he became too old to be used any more. He had been on his own for too long and he just gave up. But we cant give up. Seven is too young for a collie to pass the rainbow bridge; he has a whole life ahead of him. His eyes show a broken spirit and apparently beneath that fur are many bony ribs. The good Samaritans who found him cannot keep him and have asked angels to help. You, our loyal angel fans, know the drill; we MUST have a foster and funds to take him. His vetting bills will be much higher than normal since he will need a lot of attention to get him back on the road to recovery; xrays, blood work, etc. We beg you to help us give this boy a chance. Regardless of where you live in the world, you can make a difference. Senior dogs deserve the same love and attention as all of our angels. I dream of him getting medical attention that he needs today. Of him tasting turkey in a loving home this Thanksgiving. But we must have a foster and funds to make that dream a reality. Email [email protected] to foster. And, we beg that you please DONATE swiftly, generously to the senior collie we call RHODES. angelsrescue.org/donate. He needs us. Now. (Megan, Atlanta. GA)
