COLONIA, Yap (Civic Affairs) — On Tuesday, December 30, 2014, the 8th Legislature of the State of Yap held its last session. By January of 2015, the legislature will officially become the 9th Yap State Legislature and undergo transition into the new government administration. Leading up to the last session on the 30th, the 8th Legislature passed several measures. Following are several measures recently passed by the legislature and disseminated by the Office of the Governor: • On November 27, 2014, the 8th Legislature transmitted a copy of Yap State Resolution No. 8-107, Approving the Lease Agreement between the Government of the State of Yap and Waab Transportation Company. • On November 22, 2014, the 8th Legislature transmitted a copy of Yap State Resolution No. 8-108, Confirming the nomination of Faustino Yangmog as representative of Yap State to the Board of Directors of the FSM Petroleum Corporation. • On November 29, 2014, the 8th Legislature transmitted a copy of Yap State Resolution No. 8-109, Endorsing the nomination of Mr. Benjamin N. Weber to the position of Associate Justice in the Court of the Federated States of Micronesia. The certified copies of the three resolutions of the Fourth Regular Session, 2014 were transmitted through communications on their respective dates by the Legislative Chief Clerk, Dee N. Libian. In related news, the Governors office also disseminated a FSM Congress measure on December 16, 2014. Congressional Resolution No. 18-222 is a resolution To confirm the nomination of Mr. Jesse John Salalu to serve as a member of the Board of Regents of the College of Micronesia-FSM, representing Yap State. The resolution was adopted by the 18th Congress of the FSM, Fifth Special Session, 2014 on November 28, 2014.
