This annual community event is dedicated to the memory of Tim Barber. A Tempe police detective who was tragically lost to prostate cancer at an usually early age. The Walk for POP is a festive, educational event that highlights National Prostate Cancer Month-Prostate On Site Project-has two mobile prostate screening units that travel that state of Arizona, making annual screenings easier and more convenient by coming to workplaces, health fairs and community events. The Walk for POP raises awareness of the importance of having a simple annual exam done for early detect of prostate cancer, the second-most diagnosed cancer in men.
