COMMENDATION/OUTSTANDING ENFORCEMENT-Officer Glenn Stoltzfus At about 0001hrs 23 June 2013, Officers were dispatched to the area of the intersection of Poplar St and E Filbert St for a reported disturbance. The first officers to arrive indicated that the fight was breaking up and people were leaving the area. While checking the area to move the groups along, Officer Glenn Stoltzfus observed Jamil Mcclennan walking away from the scene of the original fight, along the 500 block of Poplar St. Officer Stoltzfus was familiar with Mcclennan from previous contacts and remembered information provided in lineup on 17 May 2013 which indicated that he was wanted on an active bench warrant. Officer Stoltzfus requested that officers in the area assist in stopping Mcclennan, which was done in the area of 534 Poplar St. Mcclennan was advised by the officers that he was being detained as part of an official police investigation and was asked to provide identification information. Mcclennan provided a false name and when confronted by Officer Stoltzfus with his true identity, Mcclennan admitted to the officers that his real name was Jamil Mcclennan. Mcclennan was then found to be in possession of a stolen Smith and Wesson .40 caliber handgun and a small amount of marijuana. Officer Stoltzfus is to be commended for his attention to lineup information and memory of the details of the names and faces he has dealt with over the years. This attention to detail assisted in removing a stolen handgun from the streets of Lancaster. His actions reflect positively on the Lancaster Bureau of Police.
