Spokesman of the command, Almad Muhammed, who confirmed the release, said Wali regained his freedom Thursday night, but could not say if any ransom was paid to his kidnappers. A family source said the former NBA president walked into his Rumualogu residence at about 11.00 pm on Thursday, but could also not confirm if any ransom was paid. Wali was abducted by four gunmen along Choba University of Port Harcourt road on the outskirts of the city and was whisked off in a speed boat.
