COMRADE ALUTA AY SPEAKS ON: THE CLOSURE OF OLABISI ONABANJO UNIVERSITY BY THE OGUN STATE GOVERNMENT. I think its time to drop my comment on the issue of the closure of Oou. No doubt that the current youth of today are todays and tomorrow future leaders but it is advisable we live by good example and never allow anybody to use us as an instrument of peace distraction within the state. When I heard that students of Oou had stormed in hundreds into the metropolitan city of Abeokuta in protest on a struggle for the reduction of school fee, my heart went far along with them in the struggle but when I got the break down of their agitation, demanding with force from the state government to reduce their school fee that has already been reduced from #350,000 the stable fee introduced by the chief hunter of Ogun State before vacation of office in 2011 to #160,000, to #25,000 and also demanding the immediate implementation of this unconsiderable policy in this current academic session not considering other institutions of learning in Ogun State and the financial condition of the state, I immediately withdraw my support from the selfish, unfaithful and unjust struggle. Comrades in struggle, in fairness to Allah I am not and I will never agi tate sympathetically on behalf of any government in reacting from a plain ground of justice and not being bias. I suggest there are few truths we need to capture and digest to pave way for fast peaceful resolution to resurrect the paralyzed academic and commercial activities in Oou. - lets be mindful of the fact that it wasnt the current administration in Ogun State that inflated Oou school fee to (#350,000) before it was reduced to (#160,000) and others state own institutions. When it was increased to #350,000 in mid December 2010, how many Oouites could stage a protest against the emergency unpleasant increment before the Almighty Chief Hunter of our dearest state then? - it is unjustifiable to compare Lagos to Ogun state? If Lagos State Government could announced #25,000 as the new school fee of Lasuites and Osuites could capitalized on this as an example to demand for a force reduction after the formal announcement of the reduction to #160,000 without being considerate, I view this require one or two question: (i) Can we compare the IGR of Lagos State to the Ogun State IGR? (i) Can we compare Lagos State allocation to the allocation of Ogun State? - if Oouites are clamoring for the implementation of the school fee reduction policy of #25,000 after the formal announcement of the #350,000 to #160,000 and to take effect in this session, what should be the agitation of other students across various state own higher institution in the state? Do they understand that finalists that champion the struggle of the reduction policy wont be beneficiaries of this policy? Does that mean Oou is a first class institution among others in Ogun State that deserve first class recognition or treatment? Does it mean other state own schools involved in the peaceful negotiation that were well represented by their students union government presidents and representatives should go to hell? OPEN LETTER TO OOU SUG PRESIDENT. CANDID COMRADESHIP ADVICE TO OOU SUG PRESIDENT AKA SOCIALIST. Despite rumor that the state government sponsor mapaites to brutalize fellow Oouites in their struggle for school fee reduction, this shouldnt deter me to appeal to you Mr President to sit down and plan a better thing you can do restore the strength of student struggle as you met it and stop toiling with the time of majority of the Oouites, the people you represent. It is of fact that freedom cometh by struggle but scientific aluta with maturing is the only key to achieve this. Mr President you need to think of many students that are home whose age is almost 30years, an automatic error against the criteria for service and the pride of education is to parade after tough years in school, in the NYSC color and become a career holder. Please dont crucify unionism in Oou on a course that needs to be treated with utmost care and maturity. If the chariot of student struggle should be suspended in ones time, that goes into a bad record. Does it mean you cant lead a nation? I am appealing to you my brother from another mother to know the son of whom you are. Always meditate in the yoruba adage that says (Oba to je ti ilu tu, oruko re ko ni pa re ati eyi ti o je ti ilu toro, ti e no o ni pa re o) meaning (A peaceful reign of a king wont be forgotten and war reign of a king wont be forgotten). Be wise comrade. Dont forget that it is just for an academic session. Please be wise to secure a rancor free administration style of leadership and be a pace setter leader in agitating for the right of Oouites. Please be wise. ALUTA CONTINUA!! VICTORIA ASCERTA.....
