CONFERENCE USSSA Playing Rules All games will be 7 innings and will play the following run rules: • 30 after 2 ½ or 3 innings of play • 20 after 3 ½ or 4 innings of play • 15 after 4 ½ or 5 innings of play The Flip/Flop Rule is in effect for all games. The Home Run Rule is as follows for all Conference games with the exception of the Smokey Mountain Classic as they use unlimited number of home runs. • When a Major Team plays a Major Team 16 home runs per game per team. • When a Major Team plays an A Team or below 12 home runs per game per team. • In all other games during the tournament 8 home runs per game per team. When playing the speed up rule (hit and sit) there will be no base running appeals on home runs out of the park or the 4 base award when a fielder touches the ball before it leaves the park. • A double flip will be used to determine home team • Pitcher’s must pitch from the rubber • We allow 2 on deck batters only; no one else, no equipment • You may bat 10 or 11 players only and must finish with what you start with. Cannot play shorthanded • Walk on 3 balls, out on 2 strikes, no courtesy foul. Ball remains live • No courtesy runners; re-entry is allowed; announce all substitutions • No doughnuts, steel pipes, sledge hammers • Safety bases are not used in Conference play • All Conference teams must wear a hat. It must be worn properly with the bill forward. No dew-rags, bandanas, etc. • Pointstreak only recognizes one number. • Parks that do not have scorekeepers; home team will home book. Confirm scores and home runs each half inning with the plate umpire • On any ejection person must leave Sight and Sound. In the event a player, coach or manager is ejected from a game, the Tournament Director, UIC and Umpire or Umpires directly involved in the situation will determine how long the player, coach or manager must sit out. Their decision is final. If the ejection is for multiple games or tournaments the ejected player, coach or manager will be considered ejected from those games/tournaments as well and must remain out of sight and sound and away from their team’s bench area. Note: Fighting will not be tolerated. Those individuals that are found to have instigated the fight and those who throw punches are subject to being ejected from the tournament and/or multiple tournaments for their actions. Anyone else involved in the fight may be ejected from the game they are in or multiple games, said tournament, or multiple tournaments depending on the severity of their actions. Note: Any ejection for multiple tournaments will be reviewed and ruled on by the USSSA Conference Committee. Only balls furnished by the Tournament Host shall be used for play. Please help in returning the balls as there is a limited supply. • Tournament Director will make all decisions as to when games will be played, resumed due to rain, have any time limits • Tournament Director will determine if a game is to be declared a forfeit. • On any protest game will be stopped until decision is made and confirmed with the UIC or TD if no UIC or if person serves as both TD and UIC with the umpires involved • Teams will be informed as to the bat testing procedure for the tournament. It may vary depending on if a bat testing machine is available at the location.
