Rachel Murphy scored the games only goal off an assist from Zoe Sorlien in the first half as South Kingstown edged Coventry, 1-0, in the preliminary round of the RIIL Division I girls soccer playoffs Tuesday night at Curtis Corner Middle School. Murphys goal and Bridget Montles seven saves propelled the eighth-seeded Rebels (5-4-6) past the ninth-seeded Oakers (4-9-2) and into the quarterfinals. South Kingstown will visit top seed LaSalle Academy on Saturday at 2 p.m.
