CONSIDER THE LILIES “Do not worry about your life, what you - TopicsExpress

CONSIDER THE LILIES “Do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; or about your body, what you put on… Why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these… Your heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things” (Matt. 6: 25 – 30). You can take a chunk of stress out of your life by changing the attitude of your mind. Life is much more than food, and drink and clothes. Besides, worrying yourself to the bone doesn’t solve anything; it only adds to your woes. It doesn’t add value to your life; it only adds pains. It increases the weight of your needless burden. Needless stress is useless and destructive. The truth is this: You can do without worry. Give it up completely, if you can; or minimize it considerably by fixing your gaze upon the Lord. Just relax in His presence and ponder the endless possibilities you can attain with Him as your helper. That is the valley of vision where faith is fired and hope rekindled. Feed your mind adequately with knowledge, knowledge of His word. Tune your mind to scriptural frequency and think in line with the Holy Scriptures. God knows what you need, and has also made adequate provision for your sustenance on earth and even beyond this life. God is not stingy, but He is highly principled. He has His standards. You can possess your possessions, as we often say; but you must gain access through the only acceptable gate of entrance, JESUS. “If you ( evil men) know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good things to those who ask Him” (Matt. 7: 11). Before God created Adam, He already had the Garden of Eden prepared, wherein He made adequate provision for Adam’s sustenance. God’s plan for the new- man in Christ follows a similar pattern, and is even more solidified. His divine power has given us ALL that pertain to life and Godliness, through the knowledge of His Son, even our Lord, Jesus Christ (2 Peter 1: 3). All that is required of us is to believe and obey Him. The rest is His to arrange. Every jig-saw puzzle will finally fall into place and every seeming complication resolved in the end. All will be well; all things work together for good to them that love God, those who are the called, according to His purpose. This is the gospel truth. You do not need to carry more burden than you can bear, when God is near. Cultivate patience, rooted in contentment. Covetousness is not virtue and cannot avail. Life is more than possessions. With proper planning and prioritization of expenditure, we can live within our means and still be happy and fulfilled. God does not withhold His abounding goodness from anyone that stays within the bounds of His grace. He is rich towards all; His love for us is all-surpassing and everlasting. Just incline yourself towards God. Lean completely upon Him. Ride and glide on the wings of His matchless grace to take you to the peak of your prominence. Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Do only what the Scripture says is right, and, verily, you shall be fed. Feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself in Him in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him. Do not fret because of him who prospers in his own way, because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. Do not panic or be dismayed. Do not be anxious. Wait on the Lord. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light and your justice as the noonday. Do not fret – it only causes harm (Psalm 37: 1- 8)
