CONTROL INDUSTRIAL TECHNICIAN SALARY : R 252 144 per annum CENTRE : Tygerberg Hospital, Parow valley REQUIREMENTS : Minimum educational qualification: National Technical Diploma (T-, or N- or S-Stream), or registration as Engineering Technician in terms of section 14(1) or 14(2) of the Engineering Profession of South Africa Act, 1990. Experience: Extensive experience in management of multi-functional engineering workshops. Extensive experience in building maintenance. Inherent requirements of the job:Valid driver’s licence (Code B). Do standby duties and emergency callouts as required. Competencies (knowledge/skills): Proficiency in technical design and analysis. Problem-solving and analytical skills. Decision-making ability. Technical report writing and consulting skills. Good communication skills. Conversant with the requirements of Occupational Health and Safety Act and other relevant regulations. DUTIES : Key result areas/outputs: Manage, supervise and control multi-disciplinary workshops, mechanical and electrical plant and machinery asset control and render frugal budgetary expenditure assistance. Ensure maintenance, repairs and servicing of emergency generators, MV/HV cables and plant, 11000/ 415 volt transformers, machinery and equipment, substations and switchgear and HV Streetlights and High Masts. Plan and design new installations and alterations and assist in project management and specification writing. Administrative duties including technical investigations, developing repair solutions and render technical advice, do personnel evaluation and progress reports and compile statistics on the institutions electricity consumption and tenant usage.
