CONVENTIONS BIBLE THOUGHT: Acts 8:4 Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went. Nearly every profession, hobby, or club organizes a regular convention for members. At these events, they share experiences, seek advice, view new products, and gain knowledge of new trends. Politicians, Pastors, Librarians, Academics Researcher, IT Experts, Doctors, quilters, salesmen, artists, plumbers, pressmen, authors- the list is endless. They learn together, and then they separate again, to share information with others at home. These Christians were not returning home from a convention. They were under terrible persecution and fleeing for their lives. But they made the best use of what must have seemed to be a horrible situation. They didnt hide in communes and keep to themselves, fearing more abuse. With the Spirits help, they remembered what they had learned while they were all together and boldly shared it with everyone they met. This was the first time Christs message had been preached so widely, and thousands of people heard the gospel who may have never heard it otherwise. Only when we arrive in heaven will we understand how much this persecution, meant to harm, actually helped to bring the gospel message to you!
