COOKING OIL ERUPTION SENDS WOMAN TO HOSPITAL A 31-year-old woman was taken to Sydneys Westmead Hospital this afternoon (13-1-15) after a cooking oil mishap in western Sydney. The CareFlight rapid response trauma team were sent to a home in Glenbawn Place, Woodcroft, after reports of an explosion. The woman had been frying fish when a water spill caused hot oil to erupt violently. She suffered burns to her face and arm. After assessing the woman for potentially life threatening risks such as airway damage, CareFlights doctor and paramedic accompanied the injured woman in a stable condition to Westmead Hospital in a road ambulance.
