# COOPER UPBEAT DESPITE LAY-OFF Reds fly-half Quade Cooper is not getting too down about his latest injury problem after turning his focus to this years World Cup. The Wallaby playmaker will have surgery on his fractured collarbone this week - after sustaining the injury in a freak training accident - and is set to be out for the first three months of Super Rugby as a result. However he will have plenty of time to recover in time for the World Cup in England, and Cooper admits its a relief to not have to worry about that. For it to happen right now, Id rather that than two months before the World Cup or a month before, he said. Thats something where youre racing the clock. Something like a collarbone... I can live with. If it was a knee injury, a reconstruction or another shoulder injury, thats when you get a bit down. A collarbone is sort of like if you have a car incident, a dent in the door, rather than popping all four tyres. My last shoulder injury was something I learned a lot about how to look after myself and how you come back from it. Having a broken collarbone is probably the most easy thing to come back from. Theyre going to put a plate in there, its going to be nice and strong. Ive just got to make sure I keep myself in good condition so that soon as its healed, physically and mentally Ill be able to contribute to the team.
