COPY/PASTE REPOST: 25.01.2015 -------------------------------------------------- STATUS UPDATE FROM ROBERT MAULANA M. ALONTO The Clash between the Logic of Wisdom and the Logic(?) of Vested Interest The full Statement in support of the Bangsamoro by the surviving Framers of the 1987 Constitution is in todays issue of the Philippine Star, January 25, 2015. It occupies the whole of page 6. The Statement is reprinted at a very timely moment when the Consolidated Position of the ARMM provincial executives and the RLA Speaker is made public that has taken a contrary view of what the Framers have taken. Interestingly enough, it is said that the ARMM executives insist that they are not opposed to the BBL. The question is, what does one call their vehement opposition to the parliamentary/ministerial form of the Bangsamoro Government? The parliamentary/ministerial form of government of the Bangsamoro is at the heart of the concept of Bangsamoro self-rule envisaged by the signed agreement - the FAB. How can they thus oppose the parliamentary/ ministerial form of government, not to mention the Bangsamoro Police Force among others, and say that they are not opposed to the BBL let alone the FAB? This is like saying that they are not opposed to the sun but they are opposed to the light that the sun emits. What sorcery of a logic (or nonsense) is this? Now, there is a clash of opinions - the opinion of the ARMM executives that sought refuge in constitutional provisions to rationalize and justify their opposition to the BBL on one hand, and the opinion of the Framers of the Constitution, on the other, who framed those constitutional provisions but are now saying that they support the Bangsamoro because it is all about the development of people, not the constitutionality of words. This is wisdom coming into collision with vested interest... Boost Post
