These discussions and considerations have culminated in the 2014 Corinthian Awards at the Historic Laboratory Mill in Lincolnton on Thursday, November 6, 2014. St. Luke’s Episcopal Church is receiving a Corinthian Award in recognition of all past and present preservation efforts that include, but are not limited to, the preservation and maintenance of original historic stained glass windows, conservation of gravestones and monuments in their historic cemetery, preservation and restoration of windows on the sanctuary and Parish House, the formation of a preservation committee to oversee the preservation and restoration of all its resources according to current historic preservation standards and guidelines, and the promotion of its history and historic resources through public outreach and programs. The church has shown an unwavering commitment to the preservation, restoration, and maintenance of its treasured historic resources, and is always willing to share their history with the community.”
