CORRECTIONAL DEPUTIES ASSAULTED Additional criminal charges have been sought against 18-year-old Stefan Sortland of Fort Collins for assaulting two correctional deputies in the Larimer County Jail booking area. When deputies opened the holding cell door to give Sortland his meal he punched a deputy in the face causing a concussion and facial swelling. A second deputy sustained an abrasion and finger sprain during attempts to gain control of Sortland. One count of 2nd Degree Assault (Felony 4) and one count of 3rd Degree Assault (Misdemeanor 1) allegations have been submitted to the Larimer County District Attorneys Office. Sortland was booked into the Larimer County Jail on November 2, 2014 by the Loveland Police Department on allegations of multiple offenses including stealing an ambulance.
