CORRUPT COMMUNICATION Today is a great day and we are to rejoice and be glad in it so says the Scripture. As today is a glorious day, there is something I want to share with us, which is corrupt communication. Ephesians 4:29 says, Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. God is interested in how we communicate as well as man. We are built by words. Our actions are also motivated by the words we hear or listen to. We can also gain favour or promotion based on how we communicate. Communication is a huge responsibility vested on the human race. Our words define who we are and what we believe in. In order for us to communicate graciously, God in His infinite wisdom, commands that we should not allow corrupt communication to proceed out of our mouths. The level at which you are able to internalise this counsel shows your level of spiritual maturity and understanding. A true child of God does not talk any how;he or she is always conscious of what he/she gives expression to. Negative or corrupt words have landed so many people in problems in the time past. In order not to be a victim of such, you will do well to heed this counsel of God for you. What constitutes Corrupt Communication? One, words that offend others constitute corrupt communication. They are people who speak purposely in order to hurt others. If this is your style of communication, it means that something is wrong some where and you need to change to be a better or gracious communicator. Two, we are ambassadors of Christ here on earth and as such, our communication should reflect His impacts in our lives. Words that make God angry constitute corrupt communication and as such we much endearvour to change. If God is pertually angry with your words, who else will help you? Food for thought! Three, we all have different challenges in life at every point in time but the magnitute of the challenges differs. As a result of this, our words should encourage people to be better than they currently are. If your communication pertually kills peoples hopes, ambitions, aspirations or makes people to feel very inferior, your communication is corrupt. You need to repent from this; its not good for you. Four, communication that brings up old wounds, past pains or stir up people to start fighting and causing damages to others or to themselves is corrupt communication. There are husbands that dont fight or beat their wives physically but they do so by words! Wounding one another emotionally via words also is bad and constitutes corrupt communication. What Is The Way Out? Beloved, there is a relationship between what is in your heart and what you give expression to. For example, if you have boiling anger in your heart, you will most likely speak angry words! Give your life to Jesus Christ today and He will give you the grace to start communicating right. Make an effort to start speaking right even if that is not your pattern of speaking; choose to change. Read the Bible every day to learn how to communicate. Read good books that will add grace to your life as well. God bless you as you put this counsel to practise today!
