Tokyo Official NOTE: The Bureau of Environment in Tokyo has been grappling with the problem of thousands of crows since 2001. Methods of driving away or eliminating the crows have included bee colonies on the tops of buildings, garbage covers, traps and poisoning with carbon monoxide. The crows are highly intelligent, remember the people who drive them away so as to later dive bomb them and memorize the garbage truck schedules so as to feed more effectively. They also nest in utility poles and thereby cause frequent blackouts. POET: DR MICHAEL VAUGHAN DATE: SATURDAY, 18 OCTOBER 2014 PLACE: BRISBANE, QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA
