COUGARS WHY VOTE FOR SAM & ARREEB ? ONE! WE ARE CALUMET! Calumet is an AWESOME college with awesomely talented people and we want to ensure that the talent that’s in this college is showcased for all of York to see! We want to build a bridge between Calumet and Schulich because Areeb is a 3rd year Schulich student and an active member in the Schulich community and Sam is a 4th year student who is active in the Calumet community! By having a better relationship with Schulich we increase the number of championships and the caliber of our sports teams! TWO! WE LIKE TO PARTY! Our main goal is to see that Calumet pride grows within the York community. Calumet’s spirit of inclusivity is why I’ve been so involved as a Frosh Boss (3 years in a row), Athletics Committee member and even VP Social this year! With my experience I know how to plan a kick ass party, and we hope to make Calumet Sports if elected one amazing party next year! Areebs skills being a calumet athletics committee member this year will only grow. I just want to quote my boy DJ Khaled and say “ALL WE DO IS WIN, WIN, WIN NO MATTER WHAT”…well not quite but you get the point. Sports are so much more then who wins or loses and we understand that. That’s why we hope to cater to all of our athlete’s needs. If you are the next LeBron James then feel free to play Tier One sports with Areeb and if you are like me and just want to have a good time and have some laughs, then you can come play Tier 2! We hope to reclaim the Sportsmanship Award that calumet has won in years past! THREE! WE ARE THE COUGARS ! We want to have more recognition for our Cougar athletes with monthly photos of our top stars and participants, New Swag to play in, and recognize Championship Teams ! We are not afraid to show off ;) We’ve also got lots of creative ideas on how to increase involvement from Frosh, resident, alumni and commuter students which lead to a more active Calumet community! RWAR RWAR RWAR RWAR With our skillset and experience we strongly believe we will be able to improve communication between athletes and the Calumet Council & expand our number of intramural enthuisiasts !
