COURTESY POST! Meet Gypsy!! Here is what her current foster parents have written about her: Meet GYPSY- In need of a Loving Forever Home. (photos attached) Last monday, my husband and I found this female lab wandering slowly in the middle of the highway, at night, in southern Utahs open space near Sigurd (and a Gypsum plant- thus her name). She was emaciated and lethargic, very hungry and thirsty, and had some cuts and swollen feet. We were on our way to a pronghorn round up with the DWR, but couldnt just leave her there- We were able to keep her at a friends boarding facility down there where she got some food an began to perk up. No ID and no chip. Her feces the next day indicated she had probably been eating wild animals and plants for however long she was out there. Today we took Gypsy to the our Willow Creek vet- Gypsy is only 49 lb.. so she must gain some weight, slowly and steadily. She is approx. 1-2 years old, teeth look great. She has had pups at one time (loose teats are visible), so she will need to be spayed when she gains more weight. She is being treated for yeast infection in both ears. We got her all of her shots today and was de-wormed. She got a blood test and we are waiting on results. We also gave her a good bath. Gypsy is very trusting, sweet, playful and quiet. She traveled in the car very well and walks great on a leash, no pulling. She is good so far with our three pups (if we didnt already have 3 we would keep her in a heart beat!!) She doesnt seem to know any commands and is not potty trained. We will work on that.
