CPS Full of Conmen – Police Warns Edison Akugizibwe Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Patrick Onyango Police has cautioned the public on the con stars who operate within Central Police Station, masquerading as are police officers. The warning comes after several innocent people reported to have been conned by these people. Police has revealed that these conmen target people who place adverts in newspapers and some on radios, to announce the loss of their documents like passports, log books and other important documents and attach their names and phone numbers. These are the details which the con stars use and call them saying that their documents were recovered and that they should come with some money for the recovery. According to Patrick Onyango the Kampala Metropolitan Police Publicist, room 10 is the police canteen and room 11 is the police store but the con stars call the victims to meet them at C.P.S in these rooms. “Police services are totally free of charge, even if your documents have been recovered no fee should be taken away from you, we have 4 suspects here and if found guilty will be charged for impersonation and obtaining money by false pretence,” said Onyango.
