(CPV) - VietJet Air, a low cost carrier and the second largest airline in Vietnam, on July 3 signed an agreement with Amadeus – a leading company in the industry of Global Airlines and Tourism. Accordingly, VietJet Air will expand flight routes and distribution channel globally as well as connecting with more than 445 different airlines within Amadeus-connected travel agencies worldwide. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung – Vice President of VietJet Air Boar of Directors said: “With this contract, tourism agencies in all over the world can purchase VietJet Air ticket easily and be immediately confirmed booking within the system. Besides, the cooperation enables travel agencies to connect with each other and find out more about promotion, customer services and tourism agencies of VietJet Air. We are also aiming at reaching the Eastern Europe and Northern America”. The newly-signed agreement offers Amadeus users access to the airline’s full range of fares. Via the Amadeus travel agency network, VietJet Air plans to offer its full range of attractive fares and content around Asia Pacific beyond its home market of Vietnam to boost growth. Additionally, Vietjet has selected the Amadeus e-Ticket Server to manage the airline’s interline partnerships primarily to serve the Vietnam market. This partnership paves the way for VietJet’s entry into the global distribution, thus helping it to achieve business goals as expand operations and services to other markets. Amadeus users are expected to have access to VietJet Air content by October this year. Low-cost carriers and hybrids continue to be an area of growth for Amadeus, and in the 1st quarter of 2014, distribution agreements were signed with four new airlines. So far, over 70 Low-cost carriers and hybrid carriers are bookable in the Amadeus system while over 85% of Amadeus bookings worldwide are made on airlines with which Amadeus has a content agreement./.
