CRIME STOPPERS ASKING FOR TIPS IN COLLINS MURDER CASE Henderson County Crime Stoppers can use your help in solving a homicide. On Sunday June 8, at approximately 1 p.m. Athens Police responded to a shooting in the 700 block of Robbins road. At the scene officers discovered Cedrick Alvin Collins, 23, who was the victim of a gunshot wound. Collins was transferred by ambulance to East Texas Medical Center where he died a short time later. Observed fleeing the scene on foot in a northwest direction were two subjects who appeared to be black males, one described as being light skin tone and the other as darker skin tone. It is believed the two fleeing subjects are known by the victim, however it is unknown if they are directly related to the shooting.
