CROWD FUNDING FOR NEW ES UNDERWEAR My mother fled China when - TopicsExpress

CROWD FUNDING FOR NEW ES UNDERWEAR My mother fled China when she was 11 on one of those wooden boats into Hong Kong. Both my parents did not get to study much and given the odds were lucky that my father took the opportunity to go to Holland for a few years, save up some money and have my mother and my two sisters join him in Holland to start a new life. Given that both my parents did not speak Dutch at the time, they worked in an industry that both of them knew well and did not require years of education, work experience or speaking the local language: chefs in a Chinese kitchen. For years they both worked their asses off to provide for their family and after saving up some money (blood, sweat and tears) they were able to buy their first Chinese restaurant in the north of The Netherlands. Meanwhile, my fourth sister and I were born in the small city of Heerenveen. By the time that I grew up we were already getting a bit more comfortable. Talking about a hard life dealt to them, I have never heard my parents complain about their background, their situation, their struggles and how sorry the world should feel for them. You might wonder now, how does the title relate to my personal sad sad (sob) story. Well, it comes down to this..... I WANT NEW UNDERWEAR. (I already went through the catalogue and picked which color I want.) Its not much, about 40 bucks (I mean..... 40 Euros.) The dilemma however, is that I dont have the 40 Euros and I dont want to work for it, so here I am turning to crowd funding. By the way, I did try to earn some income, but obviously I did not try, try again.... which brings me here to my network of Facebook friends and followers. This is a story for those of you who try to crowd fund your way to bodybuilding competitions....... SERIOUSLY? If you dont have the money, dont go, its not for you.The bodybuilding industry has never been a cheap one. Food, supplements, airfare, spray tanning, hotels, entry fees, yearly fees, etc.) Asking for free money (or a handout) is cheap. It looks cheap, it feels cheap and to be honest, to make this point clear with my personal story has already cheapened my story..... (sorry mom and dad!) If you want to compete, start with a local competition where you dont have to spend money on hotels and airfare. Save some money and pay your own way. Trust me, it will be way more satisfying than the handout. You might think it is fun to just try it out, please dont. Your friends are not telling you what I am telling you here, but trust me, they are all thinking the same. Having said all that, I still NEED the underwear, who is funding me.....?
