**CSL THREAD** Ok so if you guys havent heard already, CSL will be charging to join their league this year. Last year, we had CSL teams for League, Dota, and StarCraft 2. I understand that you guys might not want to pay to play in CSL, but Im encouraging all three groups (will X-post this to other pages) to all come together when we join the league. Its $450 for D1 AND D2 teams (by september 10th), which divided by 30 people (10 per CSL team) comes out to $15 each person. Now there were talks about having UCF pay for this, that cannot happen unfortunately. UCF did fund CSL finals years ago, but that was something that directly benefitted UCF, and the funding rules have changed drastically since then. -We arent a sports club, so they wont pay for a competition (especially since it not an academic one) -Any money that gets requested/approved could possibly be taken away from anything else Gaming Knights would like to do/buy for our members Honestly, they do offer a LOT, and $15 for a year (which you get to play every weekend) shouldnt be a problem to most. However, I understand were all college students and it might be a problem, but thats something wed have to try and figure out amongst the teams. Where the money goes to: 40% registration fee will be used to guarantee prize pool 40% registration fee will be used to guarantee travel cost to the final 20% registration fee will go towards CSL expenses (hosting for the website, shipping of prizes, equipment cost, etc) and paying staff, who are currently all working for free. But we need to act quickly so we can register through early-bird and get this year rolling. Extra info here: reddit/r/CSL/comments/2a3jmn/feedback_registration_fee/
