CT Mein dedicates Vipassana Meditation Hall to Buddhist Society Namsai, 06 Nov: On the flamboyant yet sacred dedication ceremony of Vipassana Meditation Hall also known as ‘Poi Lu Kyong Kammathan’ locally, Chow Tewa Mein Parliamentary Secretary Forest & Environment who arrange this grand ceremony had reason to cheer and expressed a sense of contentment, harmony and enlightenment. He spells out that the strong faith of Theravada Buddhist follower considered an extreme form of contributions of Buddha temple and offering. “It’s a holy practice if any devotees or followers one’s in his life time does then he/she attains highest esteem in the society and gets salvaged from all sins for better life after rebirth. This kind of pious & altruistic donation also gets one free from any kind of ailments, worries & pain and for good health”, he wishes. “Meditation which is a pivotal and usual practice of Buddhist religion, the contribution of this hall for the cause of the society would largely benefit to transform one’s character, vices, hatred into a complete being”, the Tewa articulates. He further speak out about tremendous scope of promoting religious tourism following exquisite Buddhist temples coming up in and around Namsai district of international repute which could encourage Monks and devotees from Asian, other South – East Asian countries and India. “It would be an international hub for devotees and monks who keep visiting frequently on certain occasion”, the Mein said during exclusive talk with the Editor, Lohit Mirror. Approximately Rs 2 to 3 crores has been spent for building Buddha temple of highest stature at Namgo under Medo circle, well furnished Vipassana Meditation Hall with Gold Buddha statue including hostels for both male and female monks and other building accommodations for devotees which are being built in close proximity to picturesque Golden Pagoda at Tengapani (located 20 Km away from Namsai town) together with pricey gift contributed to venerated monks and scholars conglomeration who thronged all the way from Sri Lanka, Myanmar and Thailand, Besides other devotees from neighboring states and part of Arunachal also flocked to attend the ceremony. The occasion also facilitates exposition of Buddha relic (remains) brought in from Sri Lanka which is being kept safely at Golden Pagoda after proper religious ceremony, Planting ceremony of Pepal sapling brought from Sri Lanka which is believed to be 2000 years old taken from India. Meanwhile, the four days of meditation cum dedication ceremony will conclude tomorrow evening and the same venue is also made a choice for mass meditation which is scheduled to be held from 9th December next.
