California trip February 1998 This trip started out poorly: I had this vision of having a fantastic dinner (maybe roast beef?) after landing in Las Vegas but our flight was delayed so that we didnt get into Vegas until after midnight; I was fuming!! And we had a snotty airline agent ay Portland; nothing went right! We did tour Vegas, Boulder Dam, and made it to Scottys Castle only to find that our luck (Bad Luck) hadnt changed; it was going to be a 1 to 2 hour wait to get a spot to get in! So then we toured Death Valley and finally met up with my sister and John at Laughlin NV. Toured Havasu and stopped on Route 66 to see a gun fight. Then we went to Joshua Tree and Palm Springs where Diana and John left for home. Judy and I went to Idlewild to visit Uncle Woodys cabin and then on down to Laguna to visit Aunt Mary Rose who was in the hospital. From there we stopped by to visit BG and then to Upland. We made a visit to Cable and Corona to check in with whomever we could find. It took a lot of editing to get the two hours of film down to 20 minutes, and in reviewing the old VHS tape after 17 years I found that the tape has been deteriorated for some reason; maybe just age?
