Call for Proposals for MainStreet Design Initiatives! (Façade Squad, MainStreet Placemaking, Interiors) The DowntownABQ MainStreet Initiative is pleased to announce the New Mexico MainStreet seed grant program for MainStreet Design Initiatives (Façade Squad, MainStreet Placemaking or MainStreet Interiors). The New Mexico Resiliency Alliance will provide to up to two-thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500.00) in seed grant funding, reimbursable upon presentation of receipts for purchase under the following conditions: 1. Ability to show project is volunteer driven with the ability to provide and recruit 20-40 community volunteers to assist in the project. 2. Funds must be matched at minimum, dollar for dollar, by the property owner for the project. Grant funds may be used for supplies including: - Putty, paint, stucco, sand paper, brushes, rollers, pans, paint cloths, painters tape - Facade lighting, exterior store and window signage, pedestrian lighting - Benches, trash receptacles, plantings and planting materials, planting boxes and pots - Other materials necessary for individual building, streetscape, or public space renovation All Design Initiatives will require an on site training of volunteers along with respective board and committee members on the unique design qualities of their MainStreet district. This training will take place prior to the implementation of the project provided by a Design Program Associate within the community.
