Call for Resumes: Kingdom Chronicler Greetings most awesome Kingdom in the Known World, My term as your Chronicler is up in August and I am not seeking a new term. This is an amazing office. I have met so many people from around the Kingdom, and learned so much from all of them. It’s been really great and going with my belief that someone new should always get a turn I am stepping away. What does it take to be the Kingdom Chronicler? You need to have some spare time as this is deadline driven work. creativity, a passion for AEthelmearc, experience with desk top publishing (Adobe Illustrator CS 5 in the software you will be required to use), and access to the internet and email. Please see office descriptions for the requirements but it basically boils down to a few things. You will be working with the local Chroniclers to help them and make sure requirements are fulfilled. They have been a really great group and have made what ever jobs I have had to do very easy. You will need to publish the 16 page Print AEstel. It’s very easy. Things such as event listings, important messages from Their Majesties, Highnesses, Corporate and our Seneshal tend to fill up the book. Corporate has the books printed and distributed so all you have to do is get it to Mistress Honor the SCA publications person on time. She is truly amazing and has been a great help. The electronic Supplement known as the AEstel AExtra e-zine can house all the other bits your passions and creativity shall take you. There is no mandatory page size other than being less than 9 megs. There is no mandatory number of times per year you do one. Sure AEthelmearc has done one almost every month, but don’t fret I missed one and blew the streak of months with an e-zine. So the pressure is off of you. You would publish the Kingdom Calendar in your publications and maintain it on line. However, Mistress Cori is looking for someone in her department to take that over. So you would just have to cut and paste each month. Our brilliant and talented News Letters of AEthelmearc web minister Laird Grimolfr Ormalfrson has done a great job maintaining that. So forward him the newsletters. You also get to pick the Sylvan Quill winners and forward them to the Blackfox contest. It’s an awesome job with so much opportunity to meet people, report, chronicle, publish, be creative and etcetra. It’s what you make of it and the publications are an extension of your creativity and vision. In other words… its fun. I will also be willing to stay on as deputy and tech support for three months until you are up to speed. I’d even be willing to knock out your first print AEstel if that helps. Resumes due by July 1st 2014.
