I snagged this little booger today in a junque shop in Elkader. Roaster? That wasnt at all what I saw! I saw a wonderful bread baker! These bakers were made from the 30s to the 50s and are made of thick, polished, cast aluminum. Capacity, only two quarts.....perfect loaf size! The lid will provide that steamy chamber for producing the desired artisan crust that I love so much. Again, I think homemade breads baked in vintage bakeware have just a bit more charm.
