Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you. (Psalm 50:15) Sovereign Lord, my help in all the triumphs and defeats of life, and all the changes and challenges of each day, You are my Lord in all seasons and for all reasons. I can come to You when life makes me glad or sad. There is no place or circumstances beyond Your control. Wherever I go, You are there waiting for me. You are already at work with people before I encounter them. You prepare solutions for life’s complexities and are ready to help me resolve conflicts even before I ask You. And so, I claim Your promise given through Jeremiah, “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know” (Jeremiah 33:3). Help me, Lord, to call on You, cast my burdens upon You, and stop trying to manage my burdens in my own strength. In this quiet moment of prayer I deliberately commit each one of my burdens, large or small, into Your gracious care. Help me not to snatch them back. And give me an extra measure of Your wisdom, insight, and discernment as I tackle the challenges You have given me today. Make this a day in which I live with confidence that You will guide my thinking, unravel my difficulties, and empower my decisions. I am ready for this day, Lord, knowing that You love me and are holding me in the palm of Your hands. Amen!
